Pebbles was born May 15, 1965, in Florence, Alabama, to Van Philip East, Jr. and Dot Vinson East. In 1968, she moved to Amory, Mississippi, where she attended Amory High School and was involved in numerous activities including cheerleading. After graduation, Pebbles attended the University of Mississippi "Ole Miss" where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and was selected Freshman Beauty. Pebbles has participated in beauty pageants since the age of five and was crowned Little Miss Amory, Miss Amory, Miss Columbus, and Miss Mississippi State Parks. She participated in the Miss Mississippi Pageants as a result of being crowned Miss Amory and Miss Columbus Pageants. After winning Miss Mississippi State Parks, Pebbles was awarded a full scholarship to Mississippi University For Women, the "W", in Columbus. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Pharmacology.

She worked three seasons as a singer at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. She also worked as an actress in the Shepherd of the Hills production. After graduating from college in 1987, she moved to Dallas, Texas. She was employed by DuPont Pharma as a pharmaceutical sales representative. While living in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Pebbles won the Miss Burleson Pageant and competed in the 1991 Miss Texas Pageant where she won the evening gown competition. In November 1991, DuPont Pharma transferred Pebbles to the Wichita Falls territory. While living in Wichita Falls, she coached and prepared several girls for pageants who all went on to win the title of Miss Wichita Falls.

She and J. Michael Aulds were married April 15, 1995, in Natchez, Mississippi. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church where she sang on the Praise and Worship Team. She and Mike were one of three couples that started the College Student Ministry at Colonial. She was an intern with the Young Life Organization of Wichita Falls. Pebbles was very active in her children's lives and was always willing to volunteer at the school. She was a member of the Campus Improvement Team at Archer City Elementary.
