Mrs. Harriet Dunstan Ballard, 62, widow of E. R. Ballard, who died here 13 years ago, died Monday morning shortly after eight o'clock following an illness of several days with pneumonia and complications. She was the daughter of the late, Edwin Dunstan, who died here about two years ago. She moved here with her husband in 1908, being a native of Essex, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Ballard was a life-long member of the Methodist church, and was always a loyal and devoted worker in her church and Sunday school and other Christian organizations. She was intensely interested in all matters pertaining to the uplift of the community.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by the pastor, the Rev. A. C. McCorkle, assisted by the Rev. W. K. Duncan, of Columbus and Rev. V. E. Boston of the local Baptist church. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Ballard is survived by two children, Miss Ada M. Ballard, of Winona and Mr. Harry D. Ballard, of New York City; a brother, C. K. Dunstan, of Phoenix, Arz.; and five sisters, as follows: Miss Minnie Dunstan, Miss Louise Dunstan, and Mrs. Edmunds G. Whitehead, all of Winona; Mrs. J. H. Hicks of Inverness, and Mrs. Albert Eudy of Eupora.

Out of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. Harry D. Ballard, New York; Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Hicks, Inverness, Miss.; Mrs. Albert Eudy and Miss Helen Eudy, Eupora, Miss.; Mrs. J. A. Hammack, Hollandale Miss; Mrs. Dudley Sweatt, Sunflower, Miss.
