Aaron Edward "Ed" Flory, 89, prominent retired farmer and nursery operator, died at 7 a.m. Monday at his home on route 5. Born in Miami township, Cass county, Sept. 5, 1866, he was the son of Dave and Sarah (Heffley) Flory. He had been associated with two sons, Wilmer and Marcellus, in the nursery and fruit-growing business. He formerly taught school and at one time attended the Universalist college atop College Hill. The deceased was a member of the Miami Baptist church.
Survivors include three sons: Ivan, Arlington, Va.: and Wilmer and Marcellus: nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. His wife, the former Mabel C. Swigart, preceded him in death.
Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fisher funeral home with the Rev. Harry Rea and the Rev. Raymond Skelton officiating. Burial will be made in Bethel cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Monday evening.
