Miss Marbut was born November 14, 1899, in Columbia, the daughter of C. F. and Florence Martin Marbut. She had lived in the southwest Missouri area since 1950. She was a professor of physical education at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Following retirement she farmed in McDowell.
Survivors include one nephew, Phil Moomaw of Pineville; two nieces, seven grand nephews and two grand nieces.
A private family burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville under the direction of Ozark Funeral Home of Anderson.
