He was born July 27, 1921 in Harrison County, Missouri, the son of Evert P. and Ethel Bell (Ricketts) Clark.
On August 12, 1946, he married Beulah Bartlett-Clouse in Troy, KS. She survives at the home.
J. R. served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a farmer, school bus driver and custodian, and he retired from the Albany Regional Center. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, New Hampton, MO.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a 2 sons, Rick Clark, Bethany, MO and Terry Clouse, Proyer, OK; daughter, Judy Foreman, Bethany, MO; brother, Max Clark, Bethany, MO; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers Carlisle Clark and Eugene Clark; sister Maxine Funk.
