Obituary
Alfred J. Castile, 89, of Guys Mills, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at his residence.
He was born June 30, 1931 in Blooming Valley, a son of Alma and Gertrude Norr Castile. He had been married to Catherine Neff and subsequently married Margaret L. Gilbert Homer November 28, 1988.
Al worked at Abex for 17 years and then for Avtex for 17 years in the spinning department. He also drove school bus for Penncrest School District and Girardat Transportation for a total of 55 years.
A member of the Bible Baptist Church, Al was also a social member of VFW Post 2006 and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Margaret, include a son, Dennis A. Castile (Lastene) of Connoquenessing; a daughter Judy Forsythe of Ellwood City; a step-son, John Homer (Nancy) of Conneautville; a brother, Kenneth Castile (Lois) of Meadville; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Smith; a granddaughter, Lexie Castile; a brother, Donald Castile; a sister, Dorothy Castile; a step-daughter, Sarah Homer; and two step-sons, Jeff and Paul Homer.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 15th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where CDC guidelines for the wearing of masks will be followed.
The funeral service will be Thursday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Phillip Thomas of Bible Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
