Jeraine Hokanson, age 79, of Park Rapids, MN, passed away in CHI St. Joseph's Area Health Services.
Jeraine was born the daughter of Ralph & Vivian (Gunderson) Bose in Slayton, MN. Jeraine attended Lake Wilson School. In 1956 she married O'Dean Hokanson in Slayton, MN. During O'Dean's military career they lived in Lake Wilson, MN; Chandler, MN; Kingston, NY; Petersburg, VA; Fort Lee, VA; Phoenix, AZ; Minot Air Force Base, ND; San Antonio, TX; Biloxi, MS; Berlin Germany; and Ramstein Germany. They finally settled in Park Rapids, MN.
Jeraine volunteered at Barely Used Thrift Store, was a cook at the Royal Bar, and was owner of "That Antique Place". She enjoyed going to antique auctions and swap meets. Jeraine liked to give money around the community and the best memories are of her wanting to go to rummage/garage sales. She enjoyed decorating her home, refinishing furniture, embroidering, reading magazines, and had a real passion for her pets including birds, dogs, and fish. She loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Jeraine is survived by her husband of 63 years, O'Dean; her children, Lynda Young, Rhonda (Jeff) Schubert, and Larry (Kerrie)Hokanson; 11 grandchildren, Trevor Young, Shane Young, Alayna Bozorsky, Heather Schubert, Adam Schubert, Jennifer Hokanson, Ember Hokanson, Emily Hokanson, Abby Williams, Hannah Hokanson, and Torin Hokanson; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Bose.
