Redea Ruth Redden, age 81, long-time Belleville area resident, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. She was born September 16, 1932 in Lucasville, Ohio, daughter of John Henry & Annie Catherine (Egbert) Rockwell, Sr.

Redea was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Lucasville, OH. She attended Grace Baptist Church, Belleville, for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening, walking her dog, collecting rocks, especially petoskey stones. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Redea is survived by her husband of 60 years, Estel M. Redden, Sr., ten children: Carolyn Redden of Monroe, MI, Sandra Anderson of North Richland Hills, TX, Catherine (Larry) Jones of Boyne City, MI, Janet Redden of Belleville, Tawna (Ralph) Parish of Wayne, MI, Estel Redden, Jr. of Brecksville, OH, Paul Redden & Stephen Redden both of Belleville, Randall (Stormy) Redden of Lake George, MI and Sharon Redden of Ossian, IA, 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one on-the-way, one brother James Thomas (Wilma) Rockwell of Lucasville, OH, also her miniature pinscher, Ginger. And many family and friends, some she treated like her kids!

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Joebill and John Henry Rockwell, two sisters Betty Dillow and Annabel Jordan, two grandchildren Donny Barnes & Nathaniel Barnes, great-grandchildren, Evan Parish, Prince Blackburn, and many in infancy.

Visitation was at the David C. Brown Temporary Funeral Chapel in Belleville. A funeral service was held Monday, September 23, 2013 at Grace Baptist Church in Belleville, with an hour visitation prior. Rev. Robert J. White officiated. Interment followed in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MI.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
