LaVerne G. Wright, 75, youngest of 10 children of Willis and Myrtle Leathers Guion, was born Oct. 2, 1931, in St. Louis. She died Aug. 20, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
She married Jackie McKinney in 1948. They had three daughters and were divorced Oct. 22, 1979.
She married Hubert Wright Dec. 30, 1982. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wright enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and bowling.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her daughters, Earleen Arbogast of Bucyrus, Gail Smith of Green River, Wyo., and Marsha McGovern of Pinedale, Wyo.; a stepson, Gale Wright of Houston; four stepdaughters, Karen Shelton of Bucyrus, Patti Roberts of Richland, Dawn Spencer of Houston and Traci Knubley of Festus; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 10 o'clock Friday at the Pine Lawn Cemetery with Larry Tubbs officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6508 Ladies Auxiliary.
