Husband Of Rosalie (Roberts) Johnson, Father of Robert Jr., David, Rodney, Melinda, Timothy, Melissa, and Steven. 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Son of George W. and Stella Mae (Pittman) Johnson. Brother of Richard, Buddy, And Erma (Adams) Johnson. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950s in demolition and enjoyed boxing while he was there. He was honorably discharged and came home safely to his family. He worked at the Stock Yards in Camp Washington from the mid 1960s until mid 1970s. He then began working out of Chicago, Illinois, as a truck driver for his brother-in-law's trucking company. He made many trips to the west coast via the desert and always wanted to move to the southwest. His favorite song was El Paso by Marty Robbins. His favorite actor was John Wayne. Dad loved to play the guitar and sing Doo Wop songs to Mom, he loved to dance also. He loved going on roadtrips and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved holidays and always fixed our thanksgiving dinner (the best turkey and stuffing ever) afterwards we would pull out the Christmas lights and he would test and fix them for hours and telling us stories until the early morning hours. He is very much missed and loved by family and friends.
