FITCHBURG - Norbert J. Bourque, 83, of 24 Robert St. died yesterday in Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital, Gardner, after an illness.

His wife, Delima (Cormier) Bourque, died in 1972. He leaves a son, N. Paul Bourque of Fitchburg; two daughters, Anne Demont of Fitchburg and Joan Tocci, with whom he lived; two brothers, Herman and Roy Bourque, both of Fitchburg; two sisters, Rita Thibodeau of Leominster and Lena Brideau of Ashby; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, a son of Albert O. and Anne (LeBlanc) Bourque, and lived in Fitchburg 81 years. Mr. Bourque was a purchasing agent at Independent Lock Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1973.

He was a member of St. Francis Church and its St. Vincent de Paul Society, and was an acolyte, lector and a lay minister of the Holy Eucharist.

The funeral will be tomorrow from Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Church, Sheridan St. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 tonight. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Funtasia Park, in care of S.L.L.A.C. Collaborative, 45 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, 01420, or may be left at the funeral home.
