Elizabeth was the daughter of (father - Speigle and mother Eva Vanner both from Germany. She married John Franklin Bumgardner abt 1860 in (possibly) Pennsylvania. They had the following children: A. L. Baumgardner; E. G. Baumgardner; C. S. Baumgardner; Ella Baumgardner; S. G. Baumgardner. John I (E); Herbert; and Otto Wood Baumgardner. [Otto's wife and her family appeared on the 1880, 1900 and 1910 Census of Shelby County, IL. The spelling of the Baumgardner name is often Bumgardner.
obits of 1912; Mrs John Franklin Bumgardner died March 3 of lung fever. She is survived by her husband, Three sons, Ervie, Bert, and Otto and two daughters- Mrs William D Whittingtn and Mrs Sell Price. Burial in Clark Cemetery.
