Vivian Brooks Jackson
Vivian Brooks Jackson, 73, of Winchester passed away Sunday afternoon (March 16, 2003) at her home. She was born July 3, 1929 in Jersey County the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Callie Hutchens Brooks. She married Glen Jackson May 2, 1945 in Carrollton. Mrs. Jackson attended Jerseyville Schools. She worked at the Jerseyville Community Hospital and also the Scott County Nursing Center in Winchester. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church east of Jerseyville. She is survived by her children Patricia (husband Doug) Owings of Winchester, Glen (wife Lou) Jackson of Newalla, Oklahoma, Barbara (husband Rex) Chapai of Peoria and Robert Jackson of Jefferson City, Missouri, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and a sister Minta Gross of Jerseyville. Preceding her in death were 4 brothers Ralph, Clarence, Everett, and Howard Brooks, and 2 sisters in infancy. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday March 19, 2003 at the Kane Cemetery in Kane. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to the donors choice.
