Elizabeth Ann Nix died peacefully in her sleep at home on March 16, 2008, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by loving husband of 52 years, Everett C. Nix and son, Gary E. Nix.

She was born August 19, 1929, in Navarro, Texas to Esther Ruth Goodin and G.C. "Pete" Goodin. She graduated from Mildred High School and attended Tyler Junior College. In later years, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from U.T. in Dallas and worked as a successful Realtor for Artha Garza in Dallas. She enjoyed piloting her Stearman and Cessna airplanes and was active with the historic Wisener Field airport in Mineola. She was a lover of nature and native Texas wildflowers and was an accomplished oil painter and gardener. As an avid Democrat, she worked in JFK and LBJ's campaigns. She was a long-time parishioner at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Dallas.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Savelli, and her husband Victor, two grandsons, Nicholas and Anthony, all of Dallas; brothers, Gene Goodin and wife Audrey, of Navarro, and Joe D. Goodin and wife, Betty, of Tyler; and nieces and nephews. A small family-only service will be held graveside at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Sand Springs Cemetery in Mineola, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Dallas Chapter or to the charity of your choice.
