GRIGGSVILLE - Mrs. Nellie Bly Cryder Allen, 98, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home in Perry. She was born Oct. 29, 1872 in Perry, the daughter of William and Mary Elizabeth Hall Cryder. She married John Allen on Sept. 25, 1895. He died in 1943. She is survived by a son, Herbert Allen Sr. of Perry, and two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Brooks of Perry, and Mrs. Nadyne Vertrees of Griggsville. There are six grandsons and 19 great-grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Perry United Methodist church. The body was taken to the Skinner Funeral Home in Griggsville. Arrangements are pending.
