Barbara “Bobbie” Moberley, 79, of Abilene passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, after a lengthy battle with multiple ailments.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Saturday morning, July 18th at Morehart Mortuary of Albany, 77 N. Main St, Albany, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18th at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Morehart Mortuary in Albany.

Barbara Ann Grand was born September 22, 1940 in Haskell, Texas to John and Eunice (Partain) Grand.

She grew up on a farm in Paint Creek, Texas with her older siblings Joyce A. and John “Bud” Grand.

Bobbie graduated from Paint Creek High School, spent a year at the University of Houston, and then transferred to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where she met her future husband Lee.

Bobbie took a job teaching biology in Lorenzo, Texas.

Then on June 18, 1966, she married the love of her life, Richard Lee Moberley. Lee and Bobbie were married in Haskell, Texas and started their married life in Lubbock, Texas. Lee was working for a financial company at the time and they transferred him to Dallas, Texas. They lived in Dallas for 14 months before growing tired of the big city. The two moved to Olney, Texas where Lee worked for a local C.P.A. They were only in Olney for 14 months, but managed to have 2 boys, Glen Keith, one month after they arrived in Olney, and Joseph “Joe” Pat, 3 days before moving to Plainview, Texas. They lived in Plainview for 18 years where Bobbie dedicated her life and time to her husband and boys. She was involved with any and all activities from Church, boy scouts, swimming, soccer, baseball, basketball, football, band, stock shows, and FFA - anything the boys were interested in and wore out several station wagons and a van getting them to and from Church, school, and activities. Bobbie was a great wife to Lee, great cook to all, wonderful mother, and a gifted painter when she took the time to paint. Both Lee and Bobbie evidently liked moving because during their married life, they moved 19 times in 54 years and lived in Lubbock (2 places), Dallas, Olney, Plainview (3 moves), Des Moines, Iowa (2 moves), Plainview, Abernathy, Plainview, Amarillo (3 moves), Weatherford, Abilene, Weatherford, then back to Abilene.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind one to another, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Bobbie is survived by her husband Lee; her two sons, Glen and Joe, and Joe’s wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Justin and Reagan Moberley; sister-in-law, Carol Grand; and her many nephews and nieces Kelly (Moberley) Bell, Guy Moberley, Kathy (Hager).
