Charles was the son of Samuel and Margaret (Mathison) Misener. He married Rachel C. Nichols on February 25, 1880 in Warren County, Illinois.

Charles had the following siblings: Francis (Frank), Hattie, John, Samuel, Thomas and Martha. Martha married William Bell on September 9, 1879 in Miami County, Indiana. Martha (Misener) and William Bell had two children; Elizabeth May Bell, born January 28, 1880 in Miami County, Ohio and William Roy Bell, born June 12, 1882 in Wabash, Indiana. William Roy Bell was my grandfather.
