Harvey Eugene (Hobbs) Compton, age 85, resident of Irving, Texas for forty three years, died January 2, 2004 at a Dallas Hospital. He was born March 12, 1918 in Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas, to Harvey E. Compton, Sr. and Ora
Free Compton.

A former truck driver, he was a U. S. Navy veteran of WW II. Mr. Compton was preceded in death by his wife Letha Gertrude Redwine Compton in 1998, a son Kenneth G. Compton in 1979, his parents, four brothers, Clarence, Clint, Dick, and Bud; four sisters, Lucile, Hazel, Grace and Joyce.

Survivors include son Richard Compton and wife Pat, son, Bobby Joe Compton and wife Peggy, all of Irving; daughter Judy Martin of Lancaster, Texas; sister, Claudia Faye McCreary of Big Spring, Texas; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Graveside Service 3:00 P. M., Monday, January 5, 2004 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Brother Henry Grubbs officiating.
