GOESSEL -- Henry H. Wedel, 88, farmer, died Sunday (Dec. 12, 1999) at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
He was born Oct. 28, 1911, in Goessel to Henry C. and Maria (Boese) Wedel. He married Alma Schmidt Oct. 20, 1935, in Goessel. She preceded him in death Oct. 26, 1993.
He lived most of his life in the Goessel area. He also lived several years in Louisiana.
He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel. He moved to Goessel in 1977, from a farm near Goessel. He became a resident of Bethesda Home Oct. 29, 1991.
Survivors include: three sons, Henry Harold Wedel of rural Newton, Melvin Wedel of Newton and Kenneth Wedel of Moore, Okla.; one daughter, Irene Snow of Scott City; one brother, Jacob Wedel of Goessel; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with the Revs. James Dunn and Mark Wiens officiating. Burial was in the Alexanderwohl Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with Bethesda Home in Goessel in care of the funeral home.
