At 1:20 Monday morning at his farm home on Preston Hill occurred the death of Kirkwood Parry, one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of the town. Mr. Parry had not been in normal health since he suffered an illness with flu several months ago. For about three weeks he had been confined to his bed and little encouragement held out for his recovery. Death was due to a complication of high blood pressure and kidney ailment.

Born in Florence March 9, 1871, his whole life had been spent in that town and Camden. His parents were the late John and Jane Kirkwood Parry. April 10, 1901, Mr. Parry married Miss Julia Nash, formerly of North Bay, and their wedded life has been spent on the farm where he died. Besides the widow one son, John, a brother, Charles Parry of Erie, Pa., and a number of nieces and nephews survive.

Mr. Parry was a member of Philanthropic Lodge, F. & A. M. of this village, Camden Grange and the Methodist church. He was a man of excellent character, clean habits and thrifty disposition. His death is keenly felt by a host of friends in this community and throughout the township.

With Masonic honors the funeral was held at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon from his late home and burial was made in Forest Park cemetery. The Rev. C. G. Roop, his pastor, officiated.

The services were largely attended and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. There were special pieces from the Masonic order, Grange and church. Roy H. Scranton sang two selections. The bearers were W. H. McDaniels, R. E. Pullman, Earl B. Niles, William H. Garlick, Bert Allen and Harvey Dunton.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. Charles Parry, Erie, Pa.; Frank Nash and family, Hecla, N. Y.; Charles Garlick and family, Cleveland, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nash, North Bay; Mrs. Earl Watkin and her mother, Mrs. Morgan, Ilion; Mrs. Mary Watkin and daughter, Grace, Utica; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Watkin, Oriskany; Mrs. Ella Hilton, Orwell; Mr. and Mrs. John Warren, Pulaski; Mr. and Mrs. James Kirkland, James Billington and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley and two daughters. Florence; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mitchelson, Oswego, and Miss Louise Reymore, North Bay.
