He was born March 21, 1907, in Goessel to Jacob A. and Eva (Goossen) Flaming. He married Frieda Voth Oct. 29, 1929. She preceded him in death Aug. 6, 1947. He married Esther Schmidt April 28, 1948, in Goessel. She survives of Goessel.
He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He lived on a farm near Goessel, moving to Goessel April 1979.
Survivors include: three sons, Leslie Flaming of Hillsboro, Lauren Flaming of Newton and Delbert Flaming of Hesston; one daughter, Viola Buller of Goessel; two brothers, Abe Flaming of Hutchinson and Dick Flaming of Peabody; and 12 grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Flaming and Frank Flaming; and four sisters, Mary Voth, Eva Hiebert, Katie Janzen and Margaret Epp.
Funeral services were Saturday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel with the Revs. James Dunn and Mark Wiens officiating. Burial was in the Alexanderwohl Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
