MRS. WARD DIES HERE
Funeral Services Set For Sunday At East Flat Rock Church
Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Ward, 68, widow of J. B. Ward, died Friday night at Patton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a resident of 330 Second Avenue East.
The funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the East Flat Rock First Baptist Church by the Rev. N. B. Phillips, pastor, assisted by the Rev. A. J. Overton.
Interment will be in Salem Cemetery at Fletcher with Leroy, M. C. and James Heatherly, Chas. Cagle, Lawrence Guice and Scott Staton as pallbearers. She will lie in state at the church an hour before the service. She will be at the late residence from 5 p.m. today until that time. Thomas Shepherd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was a native of Hendersonville and a daughter of Clinton and Catherine Guice Heatherly and a member of the First Baptist Church at East Flat Rock.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. N. P. Cunningham of Fletcher, Mrs. L. C. Youngblood of Fletcher, Mrs. Jack Westall of East Flat Rock, Mrs. Woodrow Capps of Hendersonville, Mrs. Victor Jones of Hendersonville, Mrs. Jack Smith of Whittier, California; a son, George Ward of Hendersonville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Memory Ward of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Hiram Pace of Zirconia, and Mrs. Buford Bell of Flat Rock, and one brother, Grady Heatherly of East Flat Rock.
