Death Claims Wife of Representative Conyers At Clatskanie
Clatskanie, Oregon, June 15. Mrs. Hannah Crane Conyers died at her home here Monday morning after a long, severe illness from heart disease. Besides her husband, seven grown children survive: W.E. Conyers, Mrs. W.K. Tichenor, C.L. Conyers, Millicent, Hallie and Azelie Conyers and Mrs. Wallace John; also a sister and brother, Mrs. Mary Lockwood of Portland and E.S. Bryant of this city.

Mrs. Conyers was the wife of Hon. E.W. Conyers, Representative of Columbia County at the last session of the Legislature, both of whom were early Oregon pioneers. She was born near Crawfordsville, Indiana December 17, 1836 and crossed the plains by ox team with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elihu G. Bryant in 1832, settling in Portland, but came one year later to this place, then a wilderness and settled on a donation land claim on which Clatskanie is now located. In 1853 she was married to Mr. Conyers and with the exception of several years spent at McMinnville, Oregon they have resided here since.
