Willie Howard (Bill) Allen, 70, Lake Road 54-8, Lake Ozark, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1982, at his home. Mr. Allen, a lifetime resident of Miller County, was born Sept. 8, 1911, in Miller County to Oliver Joseph and Ida Bell Howard Allen. On March 4, 1934, he was married to Anna Louise
Watt, who survives.
He was with Union Electric for 41 years, retiring in October
1975 as a senior hydro turbine engineer. Previous to his career with Union Electric, Mr. Allen worked for Stone and Webster, builders of Bagnell Dam. He joined Union Electric in 1934, joining the operation at Bagnell Dam in 1936. Mr. Allen was a member of the international Union of Operating
Engineers.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, James Allen,
Georgetown, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Louise Mead, Lake Ozark, and Mrs. JoAnn Parker, Fort Scott, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Russell, Eldon; two brothers, Virgil Allen, Marion, Kan., and Harley Allen, state of
California; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips
Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendall Estill officiating. Burial was in Dooley Cemetery.
