Fred Charles Nelson, 93, Maryville, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville.
Born August 29, 1903, to Soren Christian Nelson and Anna Katrena Marie Knudson, he was a retired farmer.
He married Grace Elizabeth Foster August 29, 1903, in Guilford, Missouri.
Mr. Nelson was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Guilford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter, Martha Boyd; one brother, Harry Nelson; and one sister, Lillie Ruth Hadley.
He is survived by six sons, Max Nelson of Bethany, Missouri, Wayne Nelson of Pickering, Missouri, Charles Nelson of Success, Missouri, Dale Nelson of Tabor, Iowa, David Nelson of Ravenwood, Missouri, and Dr. James Nelson of Hudson, Iowa; one brother, Dr. Edward Nelson, Kansas City, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Burial will be in Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville.
Memorials may be made to the Fred C. and Grace E. Nelson Scholarship Fund at Northwest Missouri State University.
