"JOSEPH NATHAN GREGG
Joseph Nathan Gregg, the eldest son of Jacob and Sarah Cathey Gregg, was born November 21, 1873, near Holden, MO. He departed this life February 10, 1958, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 19 days.

He was united in marriage with Eliza Ann Harris on August 19, 1892. To this union nine children were born.

He was preceded in death by his wife and four children, John, Jakey, Preston and Pearl; also his three brothers and one sister and his father and mother.

He is survived by two daughters and three sons, Mrs. John (Edna) Porter of Fort Worth, Texas, Marvin Gregg of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. John (Leona) Cornett, Roscoe Gregg and Ernest Gregg of Creighton, 22 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

He was a wonderful father and a good neighbor to all, always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. He had lived his entire life in and around Creighton.

Since the death of his wife he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. John Cornett, until last July when he went to the home of his son, Ernest (Ben) Gregg, where he passed away. He will be sadly missed by his children and grandchildren for grandpa was loved by them all, especially the great grandchildren. He was never happier than when they were around him.

'There comes a time for all of us
When we must say good-bye
But faith and hope and love and trust
Can never, never die!
Although the curtain falls at last
Is that a cause to grieve?
The future's fairer than the past
If only we believe
And trust in God's eternal care;
So when the Master calls,
Lets say that life is still more fair,
Although the curtain falls.'

The funeral service was conducted at the Creighton Christian church, Wednesday afternoon, February 12, by the Rev. Mrs. Walter Barth of Urich, and burial was made in the Parker cemetery, southwest of Creighton."
