Graves
Harold Graves, 82, a longtime Vanderbilt resident and Rockdale resident since 1995, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
He was born to the late Rufus Winton Graves and Annie Wilmath Sharp in Lilac in 1924.
After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater, Mr. Graves returned home to work for Union Pacific Railroad. He retired in 1989 after 43 years of services and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman, Local 206.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Lucy Graves; two brothers, Rufus John Graves and F.A. Graves; sisters, Marion Summers and Artie Winton Moore; son, Harold Wayne Graves of Rockdale; sister, Billie Jean Soderland of Aptos, California; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by relatives of his departed first wife, Margie Lou Locklin Graves, Jo Bird and Shirley Ellis.
