THORNDALE— - Graveside services for Edna Hilton, 82, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2000 at Salty Cemetery near Rockdale with Rev. Ray Reed of Trinity Methodist Church in Thorndale officiating.
Mrs. Hilton died Saturday, April 1 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Thorndale and the Salty community.
She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Taylor to Frank Newman Sr. and Lena (Voight) Newman. She married Linwood H. Hilton on March 9, 1935 in Salty and was a housewife. Mrs. Hilton was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Thorndale.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nannie Simank.
Survivors include her husband, Linwood Hilton of Thorndale; three sons, Robby R. Hilton, James L. Hilton and wife Lucille and Franky H. Hilton and wife Bonnie, all of Thorndale; a brother, Frank Newman Jr. of Thorndale; three sisters, Nora Pasemann, Frances Hilton and Margie Olbrich, all of Thorndale; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
