Julian Turner "Jule" Mann Jr., 67, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at his home. Mr. Mann was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Julian T. Mann Sr.; and a sister, Lois Mann Hutaff.
Mr. Mann was a local developer and businessman in the area for many years and had many friends and business acquaintances. He was born in Dunn on Dec. 11, 1939. He attended Georgia Military Academy for two years and graduated from Dunn High School in 1958, after which he attended Atlantic Christian College and Campbell University. He also served three years in the U.S. Army. Mr. Mann was a member of the Fayetteville Board of Realtors and served on the Board of Visitors of the Department of Otolaryngology at the UNC School of Medicine. He was a devoted, loving and compassionate husband to his wife, Rita, as demonstrated by his caring for her during the past several years. He also supported several local charities and took much pleasure in helping those in need.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, in Fayetteville Community Church, 2010 Middle River Loop, with the Rev. Ken Pritchard officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn.
Mr. Mann is survived by his wife, Rita of the home; a son, Jeffrey of Fayetteville; a sister Millie Prince of Wilmington; a nephew, Hank Hutaff of Fayetteville; five nieces, Millie P. Williams of Wilmington, Mrs. Kenneth R. (Susan P.) Powell of Wilson, Mrs. Charles (Mary P.) Munn of Wrightsville Beach, Mrs. Charles (Helon H.) Hrushka of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Martha H. Tueting of Asheville; four great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 S. Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603; Myrover-Reese Fellowship Home P.O. Box 64933, Fayetteville, NC 28306; and The Women's Center of Fayetteville, P.O. Box 2384, Fayetteville, NC 28302.
Services are entrusted to Skinner & Smith Funeral Home of Dunn.
