She was born June 1, 1908, to Henry D.G. and Maria (Boese) Schmidt in rural Hillsboro. She married John Klassen Oct. 26, 1934. He preceded her in death July 6, 1988.
She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. She grew up in the Hillsboro area and lived on a farm in rural Newton after her marriage. She moved to Goessel in 1964.
Survivors include: a daughter, Helga Schmidt of rural Newton; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Saturday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with the Rev. James Dunn officiating.
Burial was in Alexanderwohl Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the butterfly garden at Bethesda Home in care of the funeral home, 303 E. Main, Goessel, KS 67053.
