She was educated in McDowell County public schools and at Marshall University. She was a graduate of Concord College and had taught schools in McDowell County for 34 years, before moving to Crestview six years ago. She was a member of the Keystone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include son, William A. Boggess of Walton Beach, Fla.; brother, Frank Otey of tmgton; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Eugene Clayton Boggess in 1943.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Houston officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Bluewell. Pallbearers will be Nelson Keesee, Sonny Leslie, Virgil Lester, Barney R. Bowling, Frank Kuffner, James Shupe.
