The death of Mrs. Maria A. Waggoner occurred at her home Thursday [23 June 1921] after a long illness. Mrs. Waggoner was a lifelong resident of the town of Cato, having been born here 84 years ago. She was the widow of Harmon Waggoner, whose death occurred several years ago [27 Mar 1914].
She was a member of the Presbyterian church and Cato Star chapter, O.E.S. Four stepchildren survive her, William Waggoner of Syracuse, George Waggoner of Chicago, David R. Waggoner of Cato, and Mrs. Q. Kirtpatrick of Parma, Idaho.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon [25 June 1921] and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The services were conducted by Rev. E. Lloyd Jones after which the remains were laid to rest in Cato Union Hill Cemetery
