Catherine V. Evans Buttram passed away on Friday, 20 July 1917. She was 76.

Mrs. Buttram was born in March of 1841 to James Arden Evans and Caroline Mary Malone Evans, in Alabama. She was the eighth of twelve children born to this union.

She was united in marriage to Lorenzo Delano Buttram on Sunday, 01 September 1867, in Pontotoc, Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Mr. Buttram survives Catherine. They were married 49 years, 10 months. To their union were born six children: daughter Mary Buttram, daughter Missouri Elizabeth Buttram, daughter Laura C Buttram, daughter Emma R. Buttram, son Robert Washington Bertram, and son William W Buttram.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Evans Huckabee, brother William Jefferson Evans, sister Catherine H. Evans Marks, and brother John Pinkney Evans.

Survivors include her husband, daughter Mary Buttram, daughter Missouri Elizabeth Buttram, daughter Laura C Buttram, daughter Emma R. Buttram, son Robert Washington Bertram, son William W Buttram, sister Emily Frances Evans Johnson, and brother Christopher Columbus Evans.
