Altah Lanelle Large Auld was born in Rio Frio, Texas on December 17th, 1928 to Clarence Large and Altah Ridgeway Large and passed away on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at the age of 91 in Uvalde, Texas.
She attended Leakey Elementary and High School graduating in 1946.
Lanelle married Archie Auld Jr. on May 22nd, 1946 and became the loving mother of 5 children: Archie Ray Auld, Faye Auld Schneemann and husband Harry, Sue Auld, Ken Auld, Jan Auld and wife Tara. Her 5 grandchildren are: Jason Schneemann and wife Kelly, Tiffany Auld Sparks and husband Jake, Keena Auld, Kensee Auld and Sydney Auld. Her 4 great-grandchildren are: Callie Schneemann, Camryn Schneemann, Brady Sparks and Hayes Sparks.
Lanelle was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Auld Jr., her parents, Clarence and Altah Large, her son, Archie Ray Auld, her sisters, Lolita Suttle and Winifred McDonald and her brother, Don Large.
Lanelle attended Jean’s College of Beauty in San Angelo, TX where she became a licensed cosmetologist, opening her own hair salon in Leakey in 1969 which she operated for 50 years.
Lanelle was known by her friends and family as having a kind heart and sweet spirit. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of those who loved her and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 29th, 2020 at Nelson Funeral Chapel, Leakey, TX.
Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at Leakey Floral Cemetery, Leakey, Texas, with Brother Jim Boyd officiating.
