Services for Taylor Martin, 83, of Elkhart will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Elkhart with the Rec. Rick Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Hassell & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Martin was born Sept. 16, 1901, a son of Eddie Poole and Jessie Belle Taylor Martin. He died Monday in a Tyler hospital.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia Maurice Adams, on March 3, 1985.
A native of Elkhart, Mr. Martin was a deacon of the First Baptist Church and a member of the church's Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie Martin of Elkhart; a brother, E. W. Martin of Grapeland; three nieces and one nephew.
Pallbearers will be Weldon Easley, Jim Fortune, Tim Peters, Perry Bishop, Johnny Nichols and Walter Davis.
The family will receive condolence calls at the Martin residence in Elkhart.∼
