Daily Democrat, Clinton MO - Eugene Leroy Blackaby, son of Lee Roy Blackaby and Vida Viola Lake Blackaby, was born at Fredrick , Kansas , April 3, 1918. He died at his home at Route 2, Chilhowee February 1, 1992, at the age of 73. He lived in rural Henry and Johnson counties in Missouri most of his life. On December 23, 1928, he married Roxie May Harwood and to this union 12 children were born. He was baptized into the Bear Creek Methodist Church near LaDue in 1945. He was a carpenter and farmer before retiring. Survivors include his wife, Roxie May Blackaby of the home; six sons, William Leroy Blackaby, Holden, Eugene Larry Blackaby, Odessa, James Roy Blackaby, Lowry City, and Harold Dean Blackaby, Jimmie Wayne Blackaby and Robert Wesley Blackaby of Clinton; six daughters, Rogena Ruth Blackaby of the home, Roberta Lee O'Neill, Sikeston, Roetta Mae Barker, Clinton, Roxanna Sue Culbertson, Warrensburg, Roma Jean Marlow, Lebanon, and Ronda Faye Dizney, Adrian; 25 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday, February 4, 1992, Consalus Chapel, Chilhowee. Burial was in Calhoun Cemetery , Calhoun.
