She graduated Labette County Community High School, Altamont, Kansas in 1953. She and Leon Hopper married July 26, 1952. She had a witty sense of humor. Throughout life, she enjoyed crafts, birding, sewing for her family, and gardening.
She worshiped at Pikes Peak Park Baptist Church. A favorite verse: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Rom 5:8 LB)
Mary Jo is survived by her husband of 63 years, Allan Hopper, son; Rex (Angie), daughters; Cynthia and Paula (Curtis), ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by both parents, her brother and a grandson.
Memorial service, 11:00AM, Saturday, January 9, at Pikes Peak Park Baptist Church, 3725 El Morro Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80910.
