Mary M. Phillips , age 90, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 9:05 am on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.Born on August 5, 1929 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Harold and Carrie (Evard) Kyler, Sr. .

She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1947. On November 27, 1968, she married Roscoe L. "Bud"Phillips in Columbia City. Mary worked at Whitley Products for 23 years and then worked at United Technologies for 21 years until her retirement in 1995. Mary was a former member of the Saddle Clubs of Indiana and the Humane Society of the USA and Whitley County. She had been very active with the local Humane Society and fostered many animals for them over the years. Mary also enjoyed camping and crocheting blankets for the Shriner’s Hospital children.

Survivors include her siblings, David H. (Arnola) Kyler, Jim V. (Sandy) Kyler, and Viola Bird, all of Columbia City; several nieces and nephews; step-daughter Sandra (Ray) Cordova of Albuquerque, NM ; several step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Iris Kyler, husband Roscoe "Bud" Phillips, brothers Harold Kyler Jr. and Richard Kyler.

DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Burial will follow in South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City.
