Mrs. Edna Martin
GALENA, Kan.—Mrs. Edna Mae [May] Martin, 79 years old, lifelong Galena resident, died at 6:30 o'clock this morning at her home, 2209 Short street, following a two weeks' illness.

Mrs. Martin was born in a log cabin in Galena, where the city hall [Police Station, Fire Department, Public Restrooms & Public Library on Main Street were] now stands, and had lived here all her life.

She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Woods [Wood]. She was married 58 years ago to Noah [Wesley Peter] Martin, who survives. She was a member of the First Gospel Workers church of Joplin.

Surviving, besides her husband are three [two] sons, Noah Martin, Jr., of Joplin route 3, Walter Martin of Trona, Calif., and [grandson] Wallace Bryce Martin, Jr., of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Rice, Mrs. Ohnas [Ohnes] Shaw and Mrs. Verna Cagle of Galena; a sister, Mrs. Rose Marshal of Joplin route 3; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Funeral plans will be announced by the Derfelt funeral home.

death of our beloved one, Mrs. Edna
Martin. We are grateful for the floral

were very gratefully appreciated.
