HORTON, John Pink of Rockdale. Age 86. Died 5/17/1977 in Temple's VA Hospital where he had been a patient for 2 months. Services held (Thursday) in Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in the IOOF Cemetery. Rev. M.E. Brown and D.D. Simpson officiated.

He was BORN 10/14/1890 to M/M. Joseph F. Horton. He was a well-known barber and owned his own shop for the past 62 yrs. Married Lelah M. Robbins in 1925 in Caldwell. He was a member of American Legion, First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and veteran of WW-1, having served in the U.S. Army from 1917-1919.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Lelah M. Horton of Rockdale; 2 sons, John P. Horton, Jr., of Rockdale and James Henry Horton of Rockdale; 2 brothers, J.L. Horton of Tracy and Dolph D. Horton of Houston; 5 grandchildren, John P. Horton, III, Robin C. Horton, Jan Horton, Jimmy Horton, II, and Deanna Horton; great-granddaughter, Julie Horton.
