Isabella Dunlap Haynes died during the war. She was tending to Confederate soldiers & died of typhoid.

Will and Testament per West Virginia Will Books

I, Isabella Haynes of the County of Monroe and state of Virginia, do make & publish this my last will and Testament.
I will and bequeath to my son William Haynes one black woman Manerva and on silver spoon that belonged to Wm Haynes dec.
I will and bequeath to my son James Haynes one black boy Joseph, one bed, bedstead, 4 blankets, 4 sheets and other necessary clothing.
I will and bequeath to Robert P. Haynes one black boy Nelson.
I will and bequeath to my daughter Catharine 2 beds and furniture & one half the silver spoons.
I will and bequeath to my daughter Jane Gwinn one black boy Jacob, 1 bed & furniture and one half the silver spoons.
I will that the residue of property shall either be sold or divided as my children may think best to carry out the intention of this will.
I have not given to Catherine my daughter a slave. I will that the slaves I have given to my children, William, James, Jane, and Robert P. Haynes shall all be valued and each one shall account for the value of the slave they get with the acception of Robert P. Haynes one hundred dollars shall be deducted from the value of Nelson for services render me in my lifetime. After having all the foregoing bequests in slave given to my children valued the ones having the most valuable slaves shall pay to the property accept the one hundred dollars given to R.P. Haynes.

I do hereby appoint Wm Haynes & Robert P. Haynes the executor of the my last will and testament, given under my hand and seal this 8th day of January 1862. - I. Haynes.
