CHANEY, Tom of Rockdale. Age 73. Died 3/14/1977 (Monday) at his home, 807 Hickory, Rockdale, after being in failing health for several years. Services held 3/16 (Wed.) in Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in the IOOF Cemetery. Rev. Arnold Kent officiated. He had resided in Rockdale for 14 years.

BORN 2/8/1904 in Blanco to M/M Thomas Oliver Chaney and was a retired painter and sand blaster, an employee of Brown and Root Co. Married Florence King in 1930. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Florence Chaney of Rockdale; son, Billy Tom Chaney of Bloomington. Daughter, Mrs. Tannella Gold of Pasadena; brother, Leonard Chaney of Marble Falls; 4 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Sylvester of Bertram, Mrs. Ruth Treadway of Pearland, Mrs. Ruby Stapleton of Georgetown and Mrs. Inez Gibson of Austin; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
