POUND, VA - Harry Jeffrey Adams, 59, passed away Saturday
June 13, 2020 from the Holston Valley Medical Center-Kingsport,
TN after an extended illness.
Jeff was a lifelong resident of Pound, VA. He was a 1979 graduate
of Pound High School where he was an excellent baseball player. He
was a former coal miner. Jeff enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid coon
hunter and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and ginseng
hunting. He also liked riding four wheelers and motorcycles.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Sue Short Adams
and Charles Finley Adams; a sister Judy Adams Adler; and nieces,
Kelly Betty Lana Adams and Melinda Suzanne Adams.
Survivors include his sisters Della Charlene Mullins and husband
Darrell-Norton, VA and Stephanie Suzanne Boggs-Pound, VA; brothers
Charles Joseph (Joey)-Pound, VA and David Brett Adams and wife Helen-
Virgie, KY; a nephew/adopted brother Hunter Adams; a niece Amy Lee
Mullins; nephews Logan Jacob Mullins and Skylar Odell Boggs; and
a host of family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Tuesday June 16, 2020
in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Owens and
Reverend Willie Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends from
5:00 pm until time of services.
We will be following state occupancy and distance standards in the
funeral home. Masks are to be worn and will not be provided by the
family or the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday June 17,
2020 at the Short Family Cemetery on Sawmill Hollow Road-Pound, VA
where family members will serve as pallbearers. Those attending are
asked to meet at Baker Funeral Home by 10;00 am to prepare to go in
procession to the cemetery.
