Mrs. Eleanor Patterson, relict of the late Samuel Patterson, departed this life at her residence near Greenville, Augusta County, VA, on January 9, 1865 in the 82nd year of age.
When quite young she became a member of the church of Bethel , which her father Robert Tate was and elder.
The early part of her marriage was in the bounds of New Providence, but in 1837, she removed to Bethel, and her old home.
As a warm friend to her Pastors.-- Among those whom her friendship was longest enjoyed were Rev Samuel Brown of New Providence and his successor Rev. James Morrison; and for the last twenty two years the Rev. Dr. McFarland of Bethel.
