James Calvin Dollinger, 68, of Box 157 Pageton, was dead on arrival at a Welch hospital Friday. Born in Grayson County, Va., he was the son of the late Franklin Jerome Dollinger and Inez Blevins Dolinger. He was Pageton resident for the past 20 years.
He was a retired miner for the Nassau Coal Company in Black Wolfe. He was a member of the UMWA Local 1498. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Jenkinjones.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Dollinger, second wife, Rose Eldna Dollinger, brother, Rudy Dollinger, sister, Beatrice Miller.
Survivors: wife, Mary Parks Dollinger: son, Robert Dollinger, of Pageton; stepsons, Jerry Stepps and Kenneth Stepps, both of Anawalt, James Parks, of Jenkinjones, and Alfred Parks, of N.C.; daughter, Jackie Borer, of Cleveland; stepdaughters, Juanita Stepps, of Jenkinjones, and Connie Scott, of Harman, Tenn.; brothers, J. Elwood Dollinger, of Jenkinjones, Wiley J. Dollinger and Franklin Dollinger, Jr., both of Smyrna, Ga.; sisters, Dottie M. Miller, of Bluefield, Va., Mrs. Carl (Grace) Farmer, of Bluewell, Mrs. James (Ola) Hypes, of Bluefield, and Mrs. Alfred (Gladys) Hughes, of Waldorf, Md.; 3 grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Jenkinjones with the Rev. Albert Jarvis, assisted by Rev. Joseph White. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell. Friends may call at the Cravens-Shires funeral home in Bluewell today from 5 to 9 p.m.
