Funeral services for Margaret Vosberg of Lowry, MN, will be held Monday, June 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lowry, MN. Reverend Joe Skogmo will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Westbrook City Cemetery in Westbrook, MN.

Margaret Claire Morphew was born on April 5, 1934 in Westbrook Township, a mile and a half north of Westbrook. The daughter of Albert H. Morphew and Ruth (Johnson) Morphew. Margaret was baptized on May 20, 1934 and was confirmed on June 19, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Margaret attended school at Westbrook. On September 1, 1952 she moved to Minneapolis for work. She was united in marriage to Marvin Bratlien on December 7, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. To this union one son, Gordon Marvin was born. Marvin and Margaret made their home in Bemidji, Minnesota in the winters and in the spring and summers, Marvin worked road construction. Marvin passed away September 27, 1954. On July 19, 1957, she was married to her second husband, Duane Vosberg. They raised three sons together. In 1968, Duane and Margaret purchased a farm near Lowry. Duane passed away October 7, 2009. Margaret continued to live in the Lowry area until the time of her death.

Margaret was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lowry Lion’s Club, knitting group, and was active in the National Farmers Organization. Margaret and Duane loved to travel, visiting many State Parks throughout the United States. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts, baking sweets and spending time with her friends and family. She always looked forward to a trip to the casino the first Tuesday of every month. Margaret’s family would like to give a special thanks to Ellen Meisenheimer, DeWayne Wold, the congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the community of Lowry, for all of their kindness and companionship to Margaret over the many years she lived in Lowry. They would also like to thank the staff of Glacial Ridge Hospice for their exceptional care.

Margaret passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota. She was 86 years old.

She is survived by three sons: John (Donna) Vosberg of Lowry, Richard (Carol) Vosberg of Brooklyn Park and Gordon (Valorie) Vosberg of Monticello; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law: Dale (Mary Ann) Vosberg of Avoca, Donald (Janet) Vosberg of Dovray and Gordon (Linda) Vosberg of Westbrook and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Marvin Bratlien and Duane Vosberg; one granddaughter: Shalene; her parents; two sisters: Irene Andersen and Rhoda Morphew and one brother: Byron Morphew.
