OBITUARY: (Columbus Daily Advocate 9-24-1930) Mrs. Leslie Died Funeral Services Will be Held Friday Afternoon. Mrs. Clara May Leslie, age 66 years, 8 months and 15 days, wife of Sam Leslie, died at her home in the Hayes addition of Columbus at 10:40 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of four months. Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. A. Johnson. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Mrs. Leslie moved with her parents to Salina county, Mo., at the age of 13 years and was married to Sam Leslie at Marshall, Mo., March 13, 1881. She and her parents moved to Columbus in 1901. They were the parents of seven children. She is survived by her husband and four children as follows: Mrs. Pearl Crain of Pittsburg, Mrs. Sadie McCormick of Wichita, and Louis and Willie at home. She also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna Turney of Wichita, one brother, J. P. Morgan of Tacoma, Wash., eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Baptist church since childhood.
