Marvin was born October of 1930 in Caddo, OK to Una Inez Turman and Aaron Augusta Adams. During high school, Marvin received a full scholarship for basketball to University of Arkansas, where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. After college, he was drafted and became a pilot in the Air Force, where he earned a Bronze Star in VietNam. After 22 years in the Air Force, he retired and then began his teaching career. Marvin taught middle school Science in Albany, and then retired after 10 years. Marvin loved his family and had a great role in the lives of his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Marvin was preceded in death by parents, Aaron Adams and Una Turman-Adams and sister, Betty Hiberd.
Left to cherish his memories are: son, Marvin Douglas Adams, with wife, Gabrielle, and son, Paul, of Burleson, TX; daughter, Susan Folds, with husband, Rudy, and children Samuel Folds, with wife Michelle, and son Luke, Tiffany Steele, with son Gunnar and daughter Abigail, Daniel Folds, and Nathanael Folds, of Abilene; daughter, Kathy Etterling, with husband Dale, and children Tyler Craig, Dalton Etterling, and Anna Etterling of Ohio, as well as his sister, Rachel Long of Littlefield, and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin also had a host of friends, many that he considered family. Marvin was a mountain of a man, standing at 6 ft. 6 in., and anyone who knew him loved his optimistic attitude. This gentle giant always had a smile on his face and his big heart was an overwhelming characteristic he bestowed upon everyone he met. He will live forever in our hearts.
