Dorothy A. Potts O'Brien Campbell, age 87, resident of Brainerd, passed away and reunited with her loved ones on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004. Dorothy was born in Fridley, Minn., Sept. 10, 1917, to George E. and Hazel A. (McCready) Potts. Her younger years were spent in Fridley and Waseca living with her grandparents then aunt and uncle until her move to Brainerd at age 8 where she has resided even since. She married Giles O'Brien in Crosby July 23, 1942. Following his death, she married Ross Campbell in Brainerd Dec. 5, 1947. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Altar Guild. She was a member of the Brainerd Historical Society, RSVP and the Senior Center. She had been employed at J.C. Penney and Scotts Store. Following her retirement she spent her time traveling to spend time with family and working on her needlework and crafts to share with family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her children, Marguerite (Dale) Austin, of Willmar, Georgia (Mike) Thienes, of St. Cloud, Catherine (Bill) Lembeck, of Bloomington, and Jeffory (Genevieve) Campbell, of St. Michael; nine grandchildren, Bethany Ann George, LesLeigh Jean Austin, Zoniea Pauline Lembeck, Nicholas Roman Lembeck, Gregory John Lembeck, Renee Christine Reinnecius, Aimee Jean Devins, Douglas William Lembeck and Daniel Jerome Lembeck; and 21 great-grandchildren with another great-granddaughter expected in 2005.

Dorothy's ashes were originally interred in the altar at St. Paul's Episcopal church. In 2022, they were transferred to the family plot in Evergreen.
