John attended schools in Sulphur and Wynnewood. On December 22, he joined the Military in December 1969. After his tour of duty he worked at a Broom factory in Wynnewood until the 1980's. He worked at Hi Test in Purcell and for Dixon Construction. He faught a long battle with cancer. John enjoyed to hunt and fish; but most of all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Agnes Marie Towler; 6 sister, Marylin Dale Towler, Brenda Lee Knight, Vickee Lynn Spencer, Virginia Kay Spencer, Kathy Joe Luckingbill, Karen Sue Davis; and several nieces, and nephews as well as his son (dog) Butch.
Graveside services will be held at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
